Why Mud City?
Why Mud City?
"Mud City" was an early nickname for Chicago.
The nickname's origins lie in Chicago's environment.
Chicago was built, in part, on a mud flat, which required raising portions of the downtown area on stilts to avoid the muddy conditions.
It also suits our favorite surfaces for bike racing:
mud, dirt & gravel.
